Flowers From The Rainflorist is striving to go even greener by 2009 and we are starting the New Year off with a brand new program of recycling. We already use as many eco-friendly floral products in the shop’ daily operations and we recycle old paper, try not to print emails and recycle all empty toner cartridges and old cell phones.
Flowers From The Rainflorist is expanding on this "green" program by offering our clients a way to also participate in helping save our planet, and conserve scarce natural resources say Sher Tannozzini, owner for 20 years.
Recyling our vases really never occurred to me Sher said. The idea came to me thru a long standing local resident named Patsy Jones who works with one of our local Kids programs. She always brought in her vases from the arrangements her children had ordered from us. Then we started to get an occasional phone call from a customer asking if we wanted their vases back.
Then our drivers started bringing back vases from our Corporate accounts but what really got my attention as to how important it was becoming to a lot of folks was when a few customers started to make a special stop in when they came down from places like Boca or up from Miami and they would bring in a box of vases. It was funny to see some vase style that we had not used in years that they had shoved under the sink or stored in the garage. It was like seeing long lost relative coming back for a visit. Many voiced their concerns saying "I just did not feel right about throwing them away, would you like to reuse them? Or "You have sent me some beautiful arrangements over the years and I was cleaning out my garage and thought you might like to have them back?"
These customers inspired me to do something for them and for the environment, so today we are officially launching our recycling program. For those of you who want to help, go ahead and bring in your used vases, old cell phones, and empty ink cartridges, even baskets and containers. We will gladly reuse or recycle them for you. As a special thank you we will present you with a $10 gift card towards a future purchase or a small green plant to take home to help the environment.
This is our way of saying thanks for caring, after all we are in the caring business. People send flowers because they cared and that's why we love what we do says Sher. Our shop is located in the heart of Ft. Lauderdale and we have customers from as far south as Miami and Weston and as far north as West Palm Beach and everywhere in between. You can see our trucks all over South Fl, from Sunrise to Boca Raton, Weston to Hollywood, Tamarac, to Deerfield, Plantation to Coconut Creek and Davie to Margate. If you see one of our trucks, ask the driver to take your recyclable vases or baskets back to the shop for you and save gas, we’ll send you a gift card in the mail that you can use online or even over the phone.
You can tell with this vast delivery area, that we have a variety of clients from newlyweds, tourists, snow birds and retirees.
